I've realised that my blog has become a depository for music I like. I am generally too lazy or too tired to write about stuff that is going on, is bothering me, is making me happy, etc. So I generally just find a song that I feel like listening to the most at that time and post that.
So, a little update. I've started writting a research paper analysing the degree of diagnostic accuracy based on the comparisson between diagnosis and treatment with autopsy reports of deceased patients.
In other words, a person comes to the intensive care unit with a problem. At the intensive care unit he or she is diagnosed for what the cause of their problem could be and treated for it. In case they die an autopsy is generally performed with which the cause of death is established. Thereafter, you can compare the treatment to the autopsy-established cause of death to see, if that person was correctly diagnosed and treated...
While I am thrilled to be working on this project, and very much honoured that I didn't ask to do this but was in fact approached by one of my mentors with the request to do it, I am also a little bit concerned - the topic itself is very touchy, since it, over all, deals with the quality of work at the intensive care unit... I just hope it doesn't backfire on me, once I start looking for a field to specialize in ("Hey, you're that guy that wrote that paper...")...
Other than that, I have two exams left to finish this year. Best case scenario is that I will be done with both by the end of June. The realistic scenario is that I will manage on in June and will have to deal with the other in Septembre. Worst case scenario is that I will have to deal with both in Septembre... which would suck a lot of ass... but with some of the exams we have, you never know (you spend two months studying just to be told that you will have to redo the whole thing...).
If either the best case or the realistic case scenarios go through, I will spend the entire month of June working as a madman. I'm planning to cram 294 hours of work into June, to earn some serious money (I need to fix the front fender I managed to break on our car, plus it would be really nice to have some time of this summer for a change).
That's it from me.
Cheers!
